Heavy Metal Pollution in the Agricultural Soils Alongside Highway 080 of Igdir Province

چکیده

Natural soils have been polluted by variety of human activity such as urbanization, industrialization and excessive fertilizer pesticide usage. However, the agricultural alongside highways, especially those international ones, are relatively at higher risk heavy metal pollution depending on intensive track traffic. Therefore, total 72 soil samples from 24 sampling sites were taken 5 km interval to elucidate vehicle-induced highway 080 in Igdir, Turkey. After characterising samples, their DTPA extractable or plant available concentrations determined. The results showed that metals highly dependent distances highway. In general, closer distance resulted element concentrations. Iron zinc most affected elements (p>0.01), followed nickel (p<0.05), manganese copper (close p= 0.05). zone 0 10 m away was area. Pollution indices (PI) descending order Ni>Cu>Zn>Fe>Mn for Cu>Zn>Mn>Fe>Ni fractions. load (PLI) generally than micronutrients except (Ni) values, lower ones. It can be concluded Ni Cu likely reach environmentally risky levels shorter time.
